Get Out of Your Comfort Zone!

I had a friend invite me to her spin class today and unfortunately I couldn't go. I never do spin class
but it made me think...Why not try soemthing different today.  After I finished haircuts, birthday parties etc with my son. I was able to get a free hour to myself.  I decided to go on my first run for the year.  I'm not really a runner but I wanted to challenge myself and do something other that kickboxing, Insanity, or P90X. So I set an ambitious goal of 3 miles and as I was running I knew I would probably stop at some point about halfway thru and walk.  As I came around the second turn I thought this spot looks like a good stopping point.  Then I thought about this morning and the spin class and pushing myself and challenging myself and I just kept running.  I ran that whole 3 miles telling myself to dig deeper (I mean it's not going to kill me).  As I approached my house I had a HUGE sense of accomplishment and decided I would cool down and keep walking.  I ended up walking another mile.  So 4 miles total in about 50 minutes.  I burned 504 calories, got some good old Vitamin D, and I'm really proud of myself.
That's what happens when you get out of your Comfort Zone.  You challenge yourself and your body to do things your otherwise didn't think you could do.  Get out of the same old rut you are in and
try something different.  You might like it and if it's fitness/health related you might just get over that hump that is holding you back from losing that last 5 pounds.
If you want to make changes in your life get out of your Comfort Zone and make a CHANGE!!!!
